Every Graco® machine contains two Y strainer filters. Each Y strainer filter is located at the base of the machine’s displacement pumps. To sustain a well-running machine, Y strainer filter maintenance should be performed at least every two months.
The Process
STEP 1
Locate waste oil pump and set air regulator pressure to 0 PSI and/or turn off main air supply.
STEP 2
Locate Y strainer in-line at pump and remove cap fitting by unscrewing.

Every Graco® machine contains two Y strainer filters. Each Y strainer filter is located at the base of the machine’s displacement pumps. To sustain a well-running machine, Y strainer filter maintenance should be performed at least every two months.
The Process
STEP 1
Locate waste oil pump and set air regulator pressure to 0 PSI and/or turn off main air supply.
STEP 2
Locate Y strainer in-line at pump and remove cap fitting by unscrewing.
STEP 3
Remove filter from Y strainer. Place cup under Y strainer when removing filter to contain spillage.
STEP 4
Use an air gun, soft bristled brush, or rag dampened with water or cleaning fluid to clean filter.
STEP 5
Examine filter. If damaged, replace with new filter, part #11303.
STEP 6
Grease threads on the Y strainer cap and reassemble.
STEP 7
Reattach air lines to drum pumps. Recirculate product for 1 to 2 minutes. This will remove any air slug from system created by cleaning process. It is very important to recirculate.
